Shipping Policy
Madisound does not charge packaging and handling fees. We charge only what we pay in shipping costs, regardless of whether we are shipping within the U.S. or to an international address.
Domestic Orders | International Orders | Orders to Canada
Domestic Orders (U.S. only)
- When placing a domestic order with the shopping cart we will give you an estimated shipping amount. Your actual shipping cost will not appear as you place your order.
- We will charge you the actual shipping amount, which should be less than the estimate in most cases.
- If the actual shipping cost is significantly more expensive than the estimate, we will contact you before shipping.
- Domestic shipping methods: UPS or USPS
International Orders
Be aware that most countries are going to charge you duties and taxes when your package arrives. Before you place an order, you should check with your customs office to see what your duties and taxes will be. The commodity code for speaker parts is 8518.29.8000.
International Shipping Quotes
Place your order on our shopping cart. Submit your order with payment information. We will then email you a shipping quote prior to processing/shipping your order. If you choose to request a shipping quote (on the payment page), you will have to submit a second order later with your payment information.
FedEx International
We have very good rates with FedEx. The brokerage fee is included, but not the duty. We will quote for FedEx Economy unless you request Priority. FedEx to most countries is only a little more than USPS Priority Mail International (formerly Airmail) and is much safer (we have experienced many instances of lost or damaged packages).
FedEx Economy takes 7+ days for delivery.
FedEx Priority take 3-4 days for delivery.
USPS International
USPS Express Mail International (formerly EMS Mail) takes 4-7+ days for delivery. This service offers limited tracking information, but is pretty reliable. It is often a good value for small to medium sized orders.
USPS Priority Mail International (formerly Airmail) takes 1-2 weeks to most countries, and longer to others. If your package doesn't arrive in time, it can take up to 3 months to file a claim. Your shipping is not refunded using this method.
USPS Surface Mail We will not ship by surface mail out of the US; our experience with surface mail has not been very good.
Orders to Canada
USPS to Canada
- Usually the most cost effective and hassle free way to ship from Madisound to Canada.
- We recommend USPS Priority Mail International (formerly Airmail) or USPS Express Mail International (formerly EMS Mail) for most single package orders.
- USPS First Class Mail International (formerly Surface Mail) is only used for books and very small order
FedEx to Canada
If you are in Canada and have not placed an order from us through FedEx, you will need to:
- Customs in Canada requires that you fill out a FedEx Power of Attorney form so that FedEx become your "broker" to clear your package through customs.
- Because Canada keeps a database of customers and their brokers, if you have selected another broker to clear your packages in a previous shipment, then that information remains in the database and FedEx will have that broker clear the freight for you. The external broker will then charge you an additional brokerage fee. If you have FedEx set up as your broker, then FedEx charges about 3% of the value of the shipment, or about $7.50 minimum.
- FedEx costs about as much as USPS Priority Mail International (formerly Airmail) to ship and is cheaper to when shipping multiple package
To set FedEx up as your broker, call Shannon Howard at FedEx Canada (800) 563-1120.

Good deal for fast service. Brokerage included as long as FedEx is your broker. A separate disbursement fee is charged, FedEx charges about 3% of the value of the shipment, or about $7.50 minimum
USPS (for multiple package shipments)
This is the worst choice for multiple package shipments. Each box goes separately and not as a single shipment. The price adds up quickly.
