How to read Peerless Product Codes

1. Part number

80xxxx : Cone tweeter
81xxxx : Dome tweeter
82xxxx : Midrange speaker
83xxxx : Woofer
84xxxx : Ring dome tweeter
85xxxx : Woofers with SD cone
86xxxx : AV woofers with cast composite baskets
88xxxx : NXT exciters

2 Speaker diameter

Speaker outer diameter in mm (in case of non circular speakers the Width)

3 Speaker type

• SWR/F/L : Subwoofer (surround material: R=rubber, F=foam, L=linen)
• PWR/F/L : Power Woofer (surround material: R=rubber, F=foam, L=linen)
• WR/F/L : Woofer (surround material: R=rubber, F=foam, L=linen)
• MR/F : Midrange Speaker (surround material: R=rubber, F=foam, L=linen)

10. Impedance.

Note 1: Standard impedance's are 4, 8 and 16 ohm. The norms allow that minimum impedance over resonance can be 20% lower than the nominal impedance. Often it is acceptable that a speaker for an 8 ohm system goes below 6.4 ohm to get higher sensitivity. We then write 8/6 ohm to indicate that minimum impedance is 6 ohm, that means below what is allowed according to the norm.

Note 2: Our NXT panels do not fit into above system. A typical code can be:

  890202    KAW  594x594  T5  B2  26  25  70V

This means a panel, material: K, colour: White, dimensions: 594x594mm, Thickness 5mm, and B2 is a self extinguish fire classification. The exciter has 26mm voice coil and 25mm Neodymium magnet.. Finally 70V indicates a line transformer adapting to a 70V line.
