Visaton KE25SC ceramic dome tweeter.......has any listened to this?

If any one has listened to the Visaton KE25SC ceramic dome tweeter, can you please comment on the sound and if its any good.

Ok Since no one here seems to have listened to the Visaton KE25SC tweeter, I bought a set and tried them out.

Well, the domes are not ceramic as advertised, they are aluminum with ceramic coating....big difference.

Build quality could be better also. Parts quality is good and very sturdy, but they way they are put together, look like they could make some design changes.

I measured them and frequency response isnt bad....+/- 2db from 1khz to 20khz. They do start to roll off at about 17khz.
What I dont like is the resonance ia on the high side for my taste. 1400hz.....I like my tweeters below 800hz. They do have a built in impedance comp network, so it takes care of the peak, however, you cant really take these tweeters below 2500hz.

The nice thing about these, it uses an underhung voice coil, which is fairly important in a tweeter.


The sound is detailed and clean, but not natural...kind of mechanical sounding.

Overall, they are not a bad tweeter, but I feel it should be selling for about 50% of its current price.
