    SR71 mod to tower

Can the ZR71 be changed in a tower to get some more bass? I have been working on that but I am having trouble getting a good box size. Any ideas? I should add that the programs I am using show that this woofer (s) doesn't seem to lend itself to being in a tower. i am not a fan of speaker stands... My 15 month old just dumped 1/2 of an expensive pair on the floor. SO I figured a tower would be more stable and maybe I can get some more bass extension
    Thanks.

I will also add the Zaph Seas L18 / Seas 27TBFCG. Would building either of these as a tower cause the Crossover to be different? If so then I wouldn't consider a change. But I may build them as a tower if no change is needed.
    Thank you for any help.

    Hello,

Yes, either of these designs can be built as a tower. Keep the width and driver spacing from the top the same, extend the bottom down and close off the bottom to get the volume you need. Changes due to baffle step and diffraction are minimal.

    Regards,
    John

thanks. I may go for the ZA5.5 instead. They will perform better in my large great room

P.s. To John Krutke: I saw what happened to you on the PE forum(about your driver) about a week ago...I got involved also and took some serious flak. Oh well, I don't care. But, I just wanted to say you handled it with absolute class. Those who attacked you only diminished themselves.
    You showed your quality.
