Hi
I've read that a driver (mounted in a 2" or thicker baffle) will be "acoustically loaded in an undesirable way if the woofer is placed in a deep “tunnel”."
Does this mean that I should try and remove as much of the baffle material surrounding the rear of the driver hole as possible i.e. have a funnel shaped hole leaving scallops(?) for the driver screws, or perhaps router "layered steps" with larger diameter steps/holes towards the rear of the driver tunnel?
Or is this wrong and the loading effect is minimal in the tunnel?
Thanks
Tim
