PASSIVE RADIATORS ---- Which way to orient them?

For best *Summed phase response* between an active midwoofer and its matching passive radiator, what is generally the best location (in relationship to the active woofer) on a rectangular speaker cabinet to place the passive radiator?

    Thank you for any assistance!

It can be placed wherever convenient, given the low frequency hence long wavelength. I would avoid the front baffle, however, to reduce audibility of any unwanted internal box noise from the front. PRs are better than ports for this, but neither fully prevents unwanted internal reflected sound from escaping. The side or back should do just fine. I've used both. It depends on convenience and aesthetics, unless the speaker is to be placed up against a wall. On the back and it's nicely hidden. On the side it can fool some into thinking it's another active driver.
