I've been perusing the forums, lots of great information, and I've received my SR71 kit, with upgraded ESA Caps, and copper foil inductors. I just noticed I now have two crossover boards to mount and am thinking about external enclosure or..., creating a compartment on the bottom of the speaker to fit the two boards. This compartment would extend the overall height of the enclosure, but I would be leaving the upper compartment the same dimensions as the original design.

My question: Will building the overall height of the box (but not changing the inside dimensions and placement of the drivers) be a bad idea? I would like to keep all components in one box but not have all the added crossover stuff taking up space where sound dampening material could be.
