Ever think of trying a magnepan 50" ribbon tweeter? Not sure the factory would sell you one but you might be able to buy a used pair of MG 3.6's with blown mid/woofer panels for cheap.

They are about 1/4" wide and so have excellent horizontal dispersion, are 2.9 ohms and use NO transformer.... pretty rugged too, more so than the original foil Founteks. (Maybe not as rugged as the "composite ribbon" foil-on-kapton Founteks, though)
